Arguably the finest Americana reproduction brand from Japan, the Real McCoy’s painstakingly recreate and update original garments for the modern day offering the best from the past, replicated to perfection without compromise in Japan.
The Type B-15 from The Real McCoy’s is made under their own Real McCoy MFG Co line and is modelled on the pattern of the 1944 issue B-15 Flight Jacket. The B-15 had a relatively short lifespan in the US Army, only being produced for 4 months, although only produced for such a short period, the contract had 19 different manufacturers.
Famous for the off-centre zip front & mouton collar, the cotton sateen made it easy-to-wear in later stages of WW2, while the alpaca lining and storm flap made it an ideal companion.
McCoy’s version uses 100% cotton sateen for the outer-shell & uses an alpaca lining for the body while a cotton twill lining is used for the sleeves. Period authentic details like the mouton collar & storm flap have been paired with hand warmer slash pockets with snap fastening and a knitted ribbed waistband & cuffs. A pen pocket on left sleeve has been paired with two internal pockets with snap closure.
