An offshoot of “Osaka Five” member, Studio D’artisan, Orgueil offer collections inspired by early 20th century workwear designs.
The British Army Jacket from Orgueil is inspired by one of the most significant and eye-catching designs from the British Military, the Battle Dress Jacket (BDU Jacket). This style was introduced at the start of WW2 and often made from a lightweight denim with removable buttons and a belted waist.
Updated for the modern day, the British Army Jacket is cut from 100% cotton in Japan and comes in an intricate herringbone twill. The belted waist and epaulettes you would find on original garments have been omitted while a simple button front has been paired with two central chest pockets w/ button closure. A well executed and simple design.
