Here we have the Aizome Open Collar Shirt in a natural indigo blue colour-way. Aizome is the Japanese for indigo-dye and its popularity dates back to the Edo period in Japan, when brighter colours were reserved for the higher social classes. These days the majority of fabrics are synthetically dyed but there are some exceptions in some regions in Japan.

Kuon have opted for aizome for this shirt where the natural process is completely safe and environmentally friendly, with no chemicals used, and the dye concoction also happens to be a natural insect repellent.

Cut from 100% crepe rayon in Japan, the Aizome Open Collar Shirt shirt has a regular fit that works perfectly for a modern, casual look. The shirt also features a button front and a large single chest pocket while the open collar harks back to casual leisure shirts from the 50’s.

Please note as this is naturally dyed there may be some colour loss and colour transfer.
