Challenging the existing notion on vintage clothing, KUON revitalizes traditional Japanese boro and re-purposes these rich materials and fabrics for the modern day.
Salt shrinking is a garment processing method which involves immersing nylon fibres and applying unevenness onto the surface. By making the yarn bulge, the volume of fibres increase and the fabric eventually shrinks. Salt shrunk nylon is light yet tough, and resistant to water.
Cut to the classic Coach Jacket style, the jacket features two slash pockets and a snap button front with collar. An adjustable drawstring hem and elasticated cuffs aid fit while KUON’s signature Boro patch on the reverse completes the look. Do note that each Boro patch will differ ever-so-slightly.
