KUON have spent years collecting and analysing ancient Japanese Boro cloth and have become experts in the field. As a brand they often reconstruct garments from these original cloths after washing, repairing and re-assembling them via a skilled tailor. 

Based on their experience and knowledge KUON also produce their own up cycled boro. Having collected many different fabric remnants over the years they combine with intricate sashiko sewing techniques making re-usable fabric. 

The Boro Panelled Work Jacket for SS21 from KUON is a standout piece from the collection. Cut from 100% cotton in Japan, the Boro Panelled Work Jacket takes loose inspiration from Sportswear jackets of the 30’s & 40’s. Two slash pockets have been paired with a centre zip, throat tab and a point collar. The front body of the jacket features KUON’s intricate, hand sewn up-cycled Boro patchwork throughout and has been paired with an elasticated back waistline for ease of movement. A regular fit completes the look.
