Big Yank was launched as a workwear maker by Reliance (Reliance Manufacturing) based in Chicago, Illinois in 1919. Big Yank created a lot of innovative details from pockets to cuffs to yokes, and famous brands also imitated the details, developing products with high design while being a traditional work wear manufacturer.
Painstakingly made by 35 Summers in Japan, the Big Yank 1942 Work Shirt is a fitting tribute to the legendary workwear brand. As a wartime model, the 1942 work shirt features slimmed down production detailing and irregular stitching throughout.
Cut from 100% cotton chambray in Japan, the 1942 Work Shirt features archetypal Big Yank construction, with tonal stitching, bar tack reinforcements throughout, storm cuffs, urea buttons, a single branded aluminium button, action elbows, urea buttons, and the iconic patented asymmetrical Gacha pockets, one designed for a pen and the other a pack of cigarettes (or whatever you like, really).
